SPU SEWER CAPACITY PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT | SEATTLE, WA

Owner:  Seattle Public Utilities
SvR Role: Prime Civil Engineering
Start Date: 2007
End Date: 2010

SvR worked with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) to improve the waste water system performance. SvR tasks included sewer and combined sewer capacity assessment for proposed development, infrastructure (control and detention structures) inspection, and reporting of existing system conditions. SvR analyzed and designed next actions based on the field inspections, and examination and elimination of system relief points between stormwater and sanitary/combined sewer systems.

SvR staff was able to perform continued space assessment to assist SPU in evaluating maintenance practices. SvR worked directly with SPU maintenance contractors to develop a public outreach plan to alert residents of smoke testing and other field inspections throughout the service area. SvR also worked with SPU crews to define other system repairs.
