SEATTLE CITY LIGHT SW ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION AND FRANCHISE UTILITY DISTRIBUTION UNDERGROUNDING | SEATTLE, WA
Owner: Seattle Housing Authority
SvR Role: Civil Engineering
SvR coordinated the undergrounding of Seattle City Light’s feeder, primary and secondary distribution along with the distribution of franchise utility purveyors within a 34-block neighborhood. Over 2 miles of distribution was undergrounded. In addition, SvR coordinated with SCL revisions to the alignment of overhead feeder distribution around the perimeter of the neighborhood. SvR prepared construction drawings based on SCL and franchise utility purveyors’ designs, providing horizontal layout in coordination with other public infrastructure, existing street trees and features in the ROW. Work required a variety of construction techniques from open cut trenching to trenchless construction at existing trees.
