SvR provided landscape architecture and civil engineering for the development of the Bremerton Campus Olympic College 2007 Master Plan. Working with project architects SvR led the site analysis and open space concept development for the Bremerton Campus. Building upon the Design Team’s vision for a central spine to unify the campus and buildings, SvR developed a series of campus open spaces linked by a hierarchy of pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular systems. The Master Plan work was followed by a report outlining implementation strategies. The first major project to be undertaken was a newly constructed student parking lot. LID technologies, with guidance from the Sustainable Sites Initiative, were woven into the design for this 550 car parking facility. LID strategies and multi-functional landscape areas collect, treat and allow natural infiltration of stormwater flows. The landscaping also provides pedestrian buffers and tree canopy along the heavily traveled Warren Avenue. This was a streetscape pilot project for the Sustainable Sites Initiative.
