Kitsap SEED
Kitsap County, WA

The Port of Bremerton’s Kitsap SEED project is an exciting re-imaging of a brownfield into one of Washington State’s more progressive business parks. The first 7.5-acre phase of Kitsap SEED features many integrated sustainable solutions as well as a Zero Import / Export Water Management System, which SvR designed. At the full 75-acre build out, the Port expects up to 2,000 employees to use the park.

As civil engineer, SvR partnered with architect Mithun to develop a site that reuses and regenerates itself through infrastructure. The site features a natural drainage system that includes swale and rain gardens, as well as a cistern system for the collection of stormwater for on-site reuse. Other design elements include permeable pavements, bicycle lanes, and pedestrian pathways.

Construction is expected to begin March 2008.

  • Zero Import / Export Water Management System
  • 7.5 acre development
  • Rainwater Harvesting
  • Permeable Concrete
