F STREET | PORT TOWNSEND, WA

Owner/Client: City of Port Townsend
SvR Role: Civil Engineering & Landscape Architecture
Construction Cost: $2.25 million
Start Date: 2000
End Date: 2001

SvR was selected by the City of Port Townsend based on our commitment to work with the property owners and the community to develop and facilitate a sustainable green design for the TIB-funded, 1-mile arterial improvements on F Street. The concept explored multiple characteristics of the road from which evolved four design “zones,” each with its own distinct flavor.

The improvements were designed within the context of their surroundings, representing the personality of each unique zone. Improved pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular circulation, together with landscape treatments and public art, represented the individual quality of the varying zones. The comprehensive approach enriched the community with unified design elements to reveal the unique spirit of the City while improving safety and legibility.
