Weekly Reading: "School's out for Summer"

Let the free time for fun and exploring the world begin. Here in the PNW, school is out and our version of summer is upon us. Food Lifeline’s Food Frenzy raises funds, food and volunteer to help end hunger for Western Washington children during the summer. In Western Washington, only 11% of kids who rely on free or reduced lunches during the school year, have access to a similar meal during the summer. The funds and food raised for Food Frenzy enables Food Lifeline to get food out to hungry children through a network of food banks and meal programs.

With a full tummy there is always fun to be had. Gardening stops being a chore and becomes an engaging place of learning and fun. A park or safe wooded area becomes a land of make believe and wilderness adventure, stimulating a young mind, and who can forget the awesome feeling of a bike beneath you with the sun shining and the wind in your face? No matter your age, go outside and play!
