SvR Role: Landscape Architecture
SvR Fee: $104,000

SvR provided landscape architectural services for the Campus Center. The project involved removing existing campus buildings to make room for the Campus Center building, a campus outdoor open space and visitor parking, as well as providing guidance for future growth of the campus. The project goals included pursuit of LEED Gold and green infrastructure systems to address stormwater quality and detention requirements.

SvR’s services included the site design and grading concepts, hardscape and planting design, and irrigation. The framework for the site development is a series of 20-ft wide bands that can function as swales, rain gardens, storm water runnels and paving accents, providing a consistent grid through the campus area. Plants were selected to provide year-round visual interest while emphasizing natives, drought tolerant plants, fruit-bearing plants and plants suitable for rain gardens/swales with emphasis on groupings that allow for educational opportunities for the college.
